At Concrete, we love a pooch as much as we love a Pilsner, so when we heard that a brewery in North Dakota were combining the two, we knew we had to investigate further. Fargo Brewing Company has collaborated with rescue shelter, 4 Luv of Dog Rescue, placing portraits of adoptable dogs on to their six-pack cans of beer. This fantastic initiative is the brainchild of Jerad Ryan, a volunteer at the rescue shelter who used his job at Northern Plains Label to approach Fargo Brewing about featuring dogs in need of adoption. Cofounder of the brewery, Aaron Hill, went beyond just label printing, donating profits to the shelter, as well has holding an event where the public came to meet the dogs.
Not only does this help a fantastic cause but the labels perfectly complement the brewing company’s clean and minimalist look, creating bespoke cans that are wholly unique. According to the ASPCA, there are 10,000 puppy mills in the US, with 250,000 animals falling victim to hoarding every year. The collaboration between Fargo Brewing and 4 Luv of Dog demonstrates a community initiative aimed at protecting and promoting the importance of adoption; raising awareness whilst raising a glass!
