The third ‘Great Get Together’ festival run by Bankside Open Spaces Trust hit the streets of London once again this year on 23rd June 2019. Following last year’s success which saw over 9,000 people come together to celebrate all that we hold in common, this year was no exception.
The all-day event delivered its largest-ever programme including a Developers zone, live music including Alabama 3, a dog show judged by New London Architecture’s Peter Murray, street food, wacky races, theatre, Castellers of London and a bake-off judged by Tom Daley. The ‘Redivider’ installation at the Malborough Sports Garden with its movable sections and casting shadows added to the fun.
Inspired by the late MP Jo Cox, the event invited all who live, work and visit Bankside to come together and celebrate inclusion, tolerance and social cohesion. We hope everyone had a wonderful time and look forward to next year’s celebration!
